The Town of Kershaw is now under a State of Emergency beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 17th, 2020 until the Governor lifts the South Carolina State of Emergency. Town Hall will only be opened to the public through the drive-thru window. Utility payments will be received by the drive-thru window, online,mail or deposited in the drop box located in the drive-thru.

TOWN COUNCIL MEETING MONDAY, MARCH 16TH, 2020
With the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 and the impact it is having on the community Town Council has taken the following action:
Mayor Mark Dorman declared a 'STATE OF EMERGENCY' in the Town of Kershaw effective 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 17th, 2020.
TOWN HALL will be OPEN, however, ALL BUSINESS will be conducted VIA PHONE, INTERNET, DROP-BOX or DRIVE-THRU WINDOW. No one other than authorized personnel will be allowed to enter Town Hall.
Utility Payments will be taken via mail, online payments, through the drive-thru or deposited in the drop box.
Utility Service provided by the Town of Kershaw will NOT be suspended or disconnected for non-payment during the State of Emergency.
ALL RECREATIONAL BUILDINGS and ACTIVITIES were CLOSED at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17th, 2020. This includes all parks which include Stevens Park, Marion Street Park and Richards Park, playgrounds, tennis courts, Marion Boan Community Center, Kershaw Golf Course and Country Club. These will remain closed until the State of Emergency is lifted by the Governor of South Carolina.
All festivities & events have been cancelled for all parks, community centers and the golf course/country club that are owned by the Town of Kershaw.
Essential Personnel will remain at work. This includes the Utility Department, Street Department and Sanitation Department.
GARBAGE SERVICE will run on a NORMAL SCHEDULE.
Council Meetings have been postponed until the State of Emergency is lifted.
Close Circle will be closed to traffic during this State of Emergency.

The Town of Kershaw is delaying the payment of Hospitality Taxes collected for the Month of March 2020. Hospitality Taxes that are due for March and April must be paid to the Town on May 29th, 2020.
The Town's Business Licenses that were due April 30th, 2020, the collection date has been delayed until June 15, 2020.

CELEBRATORY PARADE FOR THE GRADUATES OF ANDREW JACKSON HIGH SCHOOL - CLASS OF 2020
Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 at 12 P.M. the Town of Kershaw is holding a parade for the Graduates of Andrew Jackson High School - Class of 2020.
This is a voluntary event presented by the Town of Kershaw for the Graduates of AJHS - Class of 2020. This is not a school sponsored event and participation is voluntary.
Graduates ::: are encouraged to wear their cap & gown, graduates are to line up at Close Circle (Stevens Park) before 11:30 a.m., graduates are encouraged to decorate their car and will drive the parade route south down Hampton Street toward Town Hall - pausing in front of Town Hall for announcement and then preceding on the parade route taking a right at the bypass/Matson Street. 2020 Graduates are to RSVP to Shelley McCall or Monica Polson via social media to reserve their spot!
Families and Friends ::: are encouraged to support their graduates along the parade route on Hampton Street from Church Street to the bypass; bring signs and noise makes, family and friends can listen to the radio broadcast from their vehicles, please remain in your cars and remember social distancing recommendations and guidelines!

Kershaw Heart & Soul is now in their 3rd Phase of Community Heart & Soul, which is a resident-driven model that creates lasting change in towns and small cities by engaging all residents to identify what matters most in their daily lives and what makes their town special.

KERSHAW CITY CEMETERY
Water will be turned on starting Monday, April 20th, 2020 at the Kershaw City Cemetery. Individual plots can be watered for 1-hour on Monday and Thursdays ONLY during daylight hours.

TOWN OF KERSHAW RECEIVES FIRST STEPS 4K GRANT
South Carolina First Steps is teaming up with the Town of Kershaw to transform a historic downtown building into a state-of-the-art child care and early education center.
2019 WATER QUALITY REPORT FOR TOWN OF KERSHAW
The annual Water Quality Report for the Town of Kershaw is now available. The report is available on the Town's website as well as in an insert with May's water bill coming out this week.
TOWN HALL CLOSED IN OBSERVANCE OF MEMORIAL DAY
Town Hall will be closed Monday, May 25th, 2020 in observance of Memorial Day. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, May 26th, 2020.
SPECIAL CALLED TOWN COUNCIL MEETING
This Town Council Meeting will be at the Kershaw County Club for Town Council only. Due to social distancing guidelines (no more than 10 people) the Public cannot attend in person but through the use of Zoom Software. Citizens should contact the Town Hall Clerk's Office via phone at (803) 475-6065 by 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 26th, 2020, to obtain the information on how to attend this meeting remotely. Public Comment may contact the Town via email at and must be sent by 4 p.m. on Monday, May 26th, 2020.
