We are already preparing for this years “in-season leaf pick-up” that will officially begin October 15, 2020. To assist all in-town residents with leaf & limb removal as well as debris clean up, we ask that you please remember the following:
* Leaves are picked up on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Leaves are to be left by the curb.
* Do not bag leaves. (After October 15th)
* Limb pickup days are Tuesday and Thursday. Limbs are to be left by the curb.
* Please separate leaves and limbs into different piles.
* Please follow all guidelines for limbs, such as length & diameter maximums. Tree limbs should not be longer than 5 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter.
*Place leaves & limbs by the curb, and 10 feet away from any power lines or obstruction.
The Town of Kershaw and KARE are rebranding the Hog Jam to the Kershaw's Tailgate Fest! This event is designed to have the spirit of appreciation of tailgating, a level of competition that makes the competitors raise their game and an expectation that everyone involved will have a good time.
Compete - Participate or Sponsor
We encourage the community to compete in the Best-Looking Tailgate or the Tailgate Cook-off competition. Entry fee is $25 for each contest and where you designate which local school gets your entry fees. Best-Looking Tailgate will be based on spirit with votes from those attending the event. Tailgate Cook-off will be your est tailgate entree whether it's short ribs, steak, hamburger, wings etc. Your entry will be judged on presentation, tenderness and taste.

We encourage businesses, organizations and churches to come out and set up a table with either free promotional items, free treats and/or have a free raffle along with bringing a carnival type game or activity that attracts and engages with the community. There is no fee but we do require a participation form.
We also encourage businesses and organizations to sponsors this event. We have three levels of sponsorships; First Down $125, Field Goal $500 and Touchdown $1,000.

This is a free family friendly event where everyone can come and enjoy themselves and where the community's businesses and organizations can engage with their community.
Schedule of Events
7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Cookers & Participants will all need to be in their respective spaces by 9:30 a.m.
11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Triple Play Band
Book Mobile from the Kershaw Branch Library; will be providing a free book to each child while supplies last.
South Carolina DNR; will be there with one of their simulators!
Kershaw Heart & Soul; will be there gathering stories and have a great Halloween themed basket that will be raffled off!
OceanaGold; will be staffing the inflatable Field Goal activity;
Team Church; will be staffing the inflatable Velcro Wall activity and giving away velcro catch games;
Judging of the Tailgate Cook-Off
Ballots will be stopped from taking and counted for Best Overall Tailgate
Where to Park:
Parking will be offsite at partnering churches and shuttles will be running on intervals. Stay tuned for more information.
Golf carts will be allowed to come into the park but they MUST PARK between the community center parking lot and skate park. Golf carts will not be allowed to be driven around within the Fall Festival.
No Pets allowed at this event; Service Animals are Welcome.
