Kershaw's Annual Christmas Parade is something that everyone in our community looks forward to every year. With it traditionally being held on Thanksgiving weekend, it kicks off the Christmas season here in Kershaw! The theme for this year's parade is, "A Savior is Born." The parade will begin at 3 p.m. at the corner of Church and N. Hampton Street - then proceed South onto N. Hampton Street where the participants take a right onto Matson Street ending the parade.

Pre-Decorated Christmas Parade Floats
Pre-Decorated floats may be purchased by contacting Sheila Hinson, President of the Kershaw Chamber of Commerce (803) 243-0195.

Participate in the Parade
If you are an individual or organization and would like to participate in the Christmas Parade, we do ask that you contact Sheila Hinson, President of the Kershaw Chamber of Commerce, (803) 243-0195, to get on the line-up sheet. There is no charge to participate. This will ensure that everyone is accounted for, and that the MC will have all pertinent information as he/she announces your participation in the parade.

The Day of the Christmas Parade:
-
Line-up for the parade will start about 2:15 p.m.

Purchased pre-decorated floats will be lined up on N. Cleveland Street;

Gold Mine Cruiser participants will line up on W. Church Street; and
-
All other participants, including home-built contest entrants, will line up on E. Church Stree

Visit Santa after the parade in the front yard of Town Hall UNTIL 5:30PM. Santa goers are asked to line up outside of Town Hall down the sidewalk.

Guidelines:
-
Parade float must be home-built and reflect the theme of 'A Savior is Born";

Parade floats must be clearly marked with signs on either side of the parade float entry;
-
No individual(s) dressed in Santa Claus suits allowed due to Santa Claus being on the last float ending the parade. (Santa hats are permitted);
-
No political statements, no firearms and no alcoholic beverages are allowed at any time;
-
Individuals/Organizations are expected to be courteous, in good taste with safety in mind at all times during the parade;

No one is allowed to get on or off a parade float once it has started down the parade route;
-
All parade entrants acknowledge and agree to save, defend and uphold harmless the Town of Kershaw, it's sponsors, agents, and members from any claims for damages and injury (including death) and property damage arising from the involvement of the parade;
